Based on a Persian tale by Farid Al-Din Attar, one of the most beautiful poetic narratives of all time, 2e2m offers a dreamlike voyage to the Orient, orchestrated by Michaël Levinas and Lilo Baur, with major performers: soprano Raquel Camarinha, nominated at the 2017 Victoires de la Musique, and actors Lucas Hérault and Hervé Pierre from La Comédie Française.
Urged on by the hoopoe, messenger of love, thirty pilgrim birds go on a voyage of initiation in search of their King. This lyrical, narrative production sculpts the acoustics of a piece in constant transformation permeated by the birds' cries and calls. The concerns are contemporary ones: the quest for identity, questions about relations between politics and religion, feminine and masculine.
