Fernando Fiszbein

Born in Argentina in Buenos Aires in 1977, Fernando Fiszbein is a composer, bandoneonist and guitarist. Since 2000, he lives in France, where he pursues his composition studies with Ivan Fedele at the CNR Strasbourg. He then joined CNSMD in Paris, before attending the computer music course at IRCAM.

His works are performed by the major French and European ensembles and he has won several international awards. Interested in cinema, he composed film music, notably for Au bout du conte and Place publique by French director Agnès Jaoui.

Musical theater has a specific place in his work, as it allows him to mix his love for music, literature and performing arts. He is the author and librettist of his opera Avenida de los Incas 3518 (2015), co-librettist of L’homme qui aimait les chiens (The Man who loved dogs) (2017) and is currently composing his third opera about Witold Gombrowicz’s work.
