MIE COQUEMPOT

Born in 1971 in Geneva, Mié Coquempot has practiced several dance techniques such as ballet, modern dance, jazz, tap dance, nihon buyo and contemporary dance. At the age of 18 she decides to go to the Julliard School of New York. She is awarded a golden medal as a performer and the Nijinsky prize in the International Dance Competition of Nagoya in 1993.

Mié Coquempot follows her career as a performer with Stepping Out Jazz Dance Company (junior), Rheda Benteifour, Peter Goss, the Mi-Octobre / Serge Ricci company, the CCN of Tours / Daniel Larrieu, William Forsythe, Simon Frearson, the CCN of Belfort / Odile Duboc... In 1998 she founds the K622 Company and produces about ten performances. Whatever the performance, she likes creating different worlds, some related to plastic arts, others more abstract, and lately, gravitating towards a more theatrical or even cinematographic stage expression.
