FRANCE - KOREA YEAR 2015-2016
2e2m + Ensemble TIMF
Distant is the time when France was a power knowing no limits and seeking to impose its canons. Contemporary music is, along with Korean cinema, perhaps the illustration of a successful appropriation of our common modernity. The remarkable Korean ensemble TIMF invites us to a subjective portrait of several generations of composers. The pioneer Isang Yun (1917-1995), one of the first Far-Eastern creators to introduce elements of his own culture into European modernity, opened the way to his successors, including the star, Unsuk Chin (1961). Three other composers are less well known: Sukhi Kang (1934) and the young Jeongkyu Park (1981) and Jiyoun Choi (1969).
