FESTIVAL GAIDA
The spectral revolution radically modified our relationship with musical sound. A member of the first generation, that of the pioneers who discovered this new territory, Michaël Levinas (1949) took inspiration from the buffoonery of Commedia dell’arte characters and the expressive power of laughter, playing on the ambiguity of the generation represented by Philippe Hurel (1955), the spectral culture between laughter and tears. With the latter, it seems to blend with the world of free-jazz, mobile and pulsed. As for the Italian Francesco Filidei, he twists the spectral style to invent a personal dramaturgy in a closed time that glances towards the great tradition but does not exclude humour.
